Make a field optional

When adding fields to a document, you can choose to mark fields as optional.  When marked as optional, the recipient will see the field during the signing process but will not be required to complete the field.  This is especially useful when you have a lot of fields on a document but don't need all the fields completed by the recipient.  You can mark the important fields as required and the less important fields as optional.

To mark a field as optional:

  1. Place the fields on the document
  2. Click the field you want to mark as optional.  This will load the field settings for that field.
  3. Click the required toggle in the field settings to disable the required setting
